🇯🇵 Sony PSP: Part 1 (Video and Music UMDs) [TCE

Our youngest was scratching around in our "Sony & Nintendo portables" box that has all our PSP, PS Vita and DS bits & pieces.

Thought a quick video on Sony's Movie & Music UMD releases for their Playstation Portable might be of some passing interest.

They were pretty handy back in the mid 2000s especially on the long-haul flights between Australia and Europe (about 24 hours travelling in total).

Finnair were still flying their MD-11 trijets where you had to watch whatever movie was playing on the tiny screens dotted along the ceiling.

You could buy movies for you iPod as well, I think, but you'd have to do that at home and then synch your iPod with your computer. Well, I did as that was where my iTunes library lived, on my Mac Pro.

So being able to pick up a few new movies duty-free to watch on the flight was pretty cool, in addition to whatever games you had.

Obviously that time has now passed - everyone has quite capable phones as well as hundreds of channels on your seatback screen.
