Husqvarna Automower Wheel Motors: What's The Rev. 07 Motor? What To Look For And Important Info

In this video we take a look at the REV 07 Husqvarna Automower wheel motor and one of the important little differences between it and the previous variation that looks nearly identical to it. If you've ordered a new wheel motor for your Husqvarna Automower and received part number 581621307 (581 62 13-07) then you probably noticed that it looks identical to the 581621306 (581 62 13-06) version other than the rubber ring at the back of the wheel motor where the wires exit the body of the motor. Believe it or not, this small rubber ring is actually an important and much welcomed added improvement because it helps to protect the wheel motor wiring from being damaged by the sharp edge of the motor housing. Over the years we have received brand new wheel motors from Husqvarna and found that the wires were damaged and in some cases sliced completely through during shipping. This was pretty rare, but was obviously an issue. The next time that we saw similar damage was during the repair of a 435X Automower. The ends of the wheel motors in the rear chassis are very close to each other so there isn't a lot of room between the ends of the wheel motors for the wiring, and then there is a sensor board and cables attached to the upper chassis that fit directly over top of the wheel motor wiring. This caused the wires to be smashed against the wheel motor housing in some cases and while the mower is out working the vibrations would cause the wires to rub the housing and get damaged. And, despite the wheel motor that you remove from your mower having a sticker with a number such as 5863561-05 printed on it, that is not the actual part number for the complete wheel motor assembly (motor & gearbox). The part number for the wheel motor assembly changes as upgrades are made, such as the simple addition of this rubber protective sleeve.
