On Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025, Mayor John W. Ewing, Jr. and City of Omaha officials held a press conference to outline the mainline construction process that begins in early January 2026. This work will include the preparation of streets and installation of tracks.
The City also announced the launch of the Future Riders Passport Program, a prize-packed way for the public to support businesses along the streetcar corridor and win prizes.
