On the Bench: Korean Squier Stratocaster restoration

A full step by step walk through as I restore a lovely but badly neglected c.1990 Korean Squier Strat that someone was throwing out.

As received it was in a sorry and unplayable state, with missing parts and badly bowed neck. I fixed that problem and, having ascertained that it was salvageable, I treated it to a full strip down and rebuild, fret job, replacement Fender tuners and a full rewire and pickups upgrade.

These early MIK’s are really lovely guitars and it was well worth the effort to bring this vintage instrument back to life
