01:09:20 High angle shot of shipping in harbour. M/S man operating crane on ship. More harbour dockyard shot.



01:09:38 Large group of men practising boxing outside. They are paired off for sparring. They are training for the RFC (Royal Flying Corp.). Prince Albert (later King George VI) watching over training event for R.F.C. cadets. Large crowd of cadets, they are gathered round a model aircraft and wave at the camera. Large group of trainee pilots wave at the camera.



01:09:58 RFC training. Marching and drill practice. Men in air crew clothing walk past camera. Man gets help to fasten up his pilots clothing. Pilot climbs into biplane. Various war planes at airfield.



01:10:42 War bond lottery. Men write results onto large blackboard. Young girl draws numbers and man announces them, they appear to be on some kind of stage.



01:11:00 Demonstration against war time shortages. People hold placards saying "Hands off the baby's milk". Lots of mothers holding babies and small children.



01:11:21 Women drag sacks of coal onto carts. One woman salutes the camera as she wheels away her cart full of coal.



01:11:34 Van from the Maidstone Gas Company. On top of the van is a large inflated bag - the vehicle is powered by gas. Cars with large coal gas bags on their roofs.



01:11:49 Women cycling. Young child in side car attached to bike. Lots of men and women on bikes.



01:11:58 People on small stage entertaining troops. One of them is dressed as a ballerina, another as a peirrot. Young girls give ballet display. Woman dancing in a most ridiculous manner, she is dressed like a principle box from a pantomime. C/U man dressed as comic Admiral pulls faces for the camera. It is Harry Tate, giving his impression of the Kaiser - he puts on a false moustache - which he wiggles. Hetty King (?) and Ernie Lotinga performing before injured and wounded troops. Pan along line of troops and nurses. Many of them are laughing.



01:12:54 Elephant working on farm. It is loading hay into bailing machine. Elephant pumping handle. Elephant pulling plough in agricultural field. A woman is holding the handles of the plough.
