ERD performs a number of repairs on the TEL/Tokyo Electron ACT8 coater system which is the standard tool used in the Semiconductor industry for the coating operation in semicon manufacturing.

We received this Main ACT8 controller from one of our Semicon customers as a dire need rush and it arrived at ERD dead. This system is a very complex multi-processor board system which has multiple storage devices and i/o controls for the system.

This unit had a damaged operating system due to defective hardware which required ERD to do a reconstruction of the data after repairing the defective hard drive controller system. We were then able to get the entire system to boot up into operation as seen in the video.

We performed this task in a very short amount of time and now we have a complete setup of tools to use in working on these systems in the future.

As with this first-time unit ERD is constantly adding new parts and pieces used in a variety of equipment used not only the semiconductor industry but in other industries as well.
