Pirates and Raiders owned the seas. And you were owned by them as well. For many years, hybrids lived in peace with humans. But that didn't last. You were enslaved now, tortured and broken until you were no more than animals.

They set you on people, innocent people, like an attack dog. And you killed them. Really, what else could you do? They had you caged on a ship for months and months, nothing but sea around you. When you were finally set free, you had to fight, run, eat. You had to.

And you were ruthless.

But the perils of being a pirate caught up with your owner, your captain, and your crew. You listened to the fight, bound and blindfolded in your cage like usual. You heard them be defeated, ruthlessly slaughtered by another group of raiders. You heard the ship land at a dock, and you heard the distant sounds of a battle raging.

You were afraid. You could be left there to die, the ship could be burned with you inside. Or they could find you, and kill you. You were helpless now, tied and weak from months at sea.

Someone came down into the ship. You heard them, your dog senses smelled them. A raider, like your old masters, and some of their crew members. You smelled fear. Fear of you. You were glad they couldn't smell your fear of them.
