A go game is broken down in 3 phases:
Open (Fuseki): in which both players take all the open corners and sides
Middle Game (Chuban): once all the open corners and sides are taken and one part of the board is heavily contested by both players and a fight occurs. Middle game is where most of the action occurs, so it is important that you practice and perfect the middle game strategies, including attack & defense, life & death, and reading
End Game (Yose): in which both players secure all of their territories and playing all the big sente and gote moves on the 2nd and 1st lines
Go, or "Weiqi" (圍棋) in Chinese, "Baduk" (바둑) in Korean, "Igo" (囲碁) in Japanese, is a 2-player board game has originated in China over 4,000 years ago.
