Eve's Mission through Matrix 11 has given her and her allies some deep, and questionable insights on the history of the war against the Naytibas. Still, they must continue their mission despite any doubts. Eve must now go to Abyss Levoire, another set of ruins located deep in the Great Desert. Before heading off, Eve has been asked to locate more missing sentinels, a Fusion Cell from a merchant named Cedric in the Xion Market, what's left of a woman who lost her husband to Naytibas, Kaya's missing sister Kara, and crucial parts from a dangerous turret in the desert from Roxanne, to activate one she now has access to, her reasons being to create a defense for Xion from the Naytibas. Although hesitant to do so, she has agreed to help Roxanne as well for the people of Xion. Eve sets off, knowing her mission will not be an easy one.
The Great Desert is the fourth main mission area of the game. Like the Wasteland, the Great Desert is an open world area filled with many places to explore, and quests to complete. Unlike the Wasteland however, it's almost one big flat surface, so getting around is somewhat easier. The exception is that to get to the center village like area, you have to go through a small passage somewhat covered in rubble to get inside. Otherwise, it's blocked by quicksand you can't walk through, or gates locked from the inside if you try to get in from another spot outside. In the open area, there are some lone ruined buildings which may contain chests and memory sticks inside.
Normally, you would use a map to navigate your way through, but I had to redo this portion so many times, I didn't need it anymore! You may notice the background songs don't play like they normally do. That's because the game suffers a bug in this area and the Wasteland involving the songs. Normally, you get one song in both areas when you first arrive as the main theme, and then it changes permanently to another after activating the solar towers. But the bug either skips the first song completely, or doesn't change after activating the towers. This seems to happen to me only in NG+.
To remedy this, I played the game with no music entering the two areas, and added the tracks in while video editing using separate videos I recorded of just the songs, and tried to make the transitions sound smoother! Hoping the developers will do something about these bugs, as I enjoyed having them switch properly in both areas!
Final Note: In the last video, we completed a mission to find a bear for a citizen of Xion located in the survivor camp in Matrix 11. To get back to the camp where it is, you have to use a travel phone to warp to the train railyard where you fought the Stalker then proceed on foot. If you try to just run there from the Matrix 11 entrance, you will be completely blocked off as you will not be able to cross the bridge where the action sequence with the broken bridge and train happened! The bridge is obviously destroyed so you can't just cross it on foot!
