Alice Wetmore Jefferson was tragically struck and killed by a train on September 9, 1914. Alice was the only daughter of Judge Lansing D. Wetmore, the first President Judge of the 37th Judicial District in Warren County.
Warren, Pennsylvania, enjoyed a great deal of wealth in the early Twentieth Century, and Alice, along with her husband John Percival Jefferson, were the cream of society. The community members were stunned with disbelief at the horrendous death of Alice.
