Part of a quarter peal of Grandsire Caters rung on 30th March.
St Peter's Brighton contains a grand old ring of 10, tenor 25-2-0 in D, the whole ring cast in 1914 by Mears and Stainbank. They go very well and are surprisingly easy to ring, yet sound rather characterful without too much oddstruckness. Taken at the speed we did, we rang a rather well struck performance. Being in the centre of town, the bells can be heard across Brighton.
The lower part of the tower is sadly still surrounded by scaffolding and apparently has been for several years, which is a shame but here is hoping that any works are completely promptly.
