This video was produced when the laboratory operated as the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). The laboratory is now the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR). The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and the City of Colorado Springs, in partnership with the Center of Excellence on New Mobility and Automated Vehicles (https://www.mobilitycoe.org/), hosted a 2-hour technical workshop showcasing advanced sensors (radar, LiDAR, video) that create real-time digital twins of traffic intersections enabling critical traffic control and safety applications. The workshop featured presentations on the IPC initiative's achievements, government/industry perspectives, Colorado Springs' collaboration experience, NREL's IPC lab capabilities, data collection procedures and sensor characterization, and a hands-on demonstration of open-source sensor fusion software.
