I go to a lot of people's houses to fix their alarms or camera issues. One of the main reasons I go is because of the lack of a strong wifi signal. Sure, you might have 1gig speeds, but after a while, in a big enough house, the signal will start getting weaker and weaker the further the distance. A good mesh network attaches and replaces the ISP equipment. Each node broadcasts a few hundred feet compared to 15 - 20 feet. You can add more nodes depending on your house and layout. For my house, I needed 3. But, we game and I did not want to rely on wifi to game, so i had to wire my house up with Cat 6 through the attic. Wire each TP-Link Mesh node to the other and back to the main one. That way I have 1gig speeds throughout the house. Every gaming room has its own node that is hardwired to avoid gaming lag.
Wireless is still better than Original equipment if you are going to start adding wifi cameras or devices that need a strong signal. If you cant hardwire it like I did you can always opt to let it bounce the signal off each other and back to the main node.
The less bounces it makes, the better the connection.
