Dr. John Fernandez, orthopedic surgeon with the Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush (MOR) Hand, Wrist & Elbow Institute in Chicago, was featured in an ABC-7 health report about rare finger transplant surgery for a woman whose fingers were severed during a sheet metal factory accident. Dr. Fernandez and his partner, Dr. Mark Cohen, transplanted a finger from one hand to another, allowing the patient to do daily chores again.
