CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (Sept. 25, 2025) — U.S. Marines and multinational forces board a U.S. Navy landing craft, air cushion (LCAC), with Assault Craft Unit 4 during Exercise UNITAS 2025.
Conceived in 1959 and first conducted in 1960, UNITAS—Latin for “unity”—is the world’s longest-running annual multinational maritime exercise. Now in its 66th year, the training builds tactical proficiency in joint maritime operations and integrates unmanned air, surface, and undersea systems to strengthen multinational cooperation.
