Cat Stevens wrote this song while on holiday in Spain. He was standing on some rocks by the sea at night and saw his shadow dancing in the moonlight. He later said it was one of his favorite songs because of its message: even if you lose everything (your hands, your eyes, your legs), you can still find a reason to sing.
