The Seattle Kraken put on one of the best pregame shows in the NHL, and I got to see it live! 🦑⚓ Watch as the tentacle lowers onto the ice, the lights dazzle, and the Kraken’s lore unfolds—all leading up to the starting lineup announcement. Then, experience the chills of Hoist the Colors, featuring Loyal by Odesza and a giant Kraken flag rippling through Climate Pledge Arena.
As a huge hockey fan living in Seattle, I love seeing how the Kraken have built their culture—including their strong representation of women in hockey. From assistant coach Jessica Campbell to assistant GM Alexandra Mandrycky, the Kraken prove that all hockey is women's hockey. There's a misconception that women’s hockey is brand new or that there’s no women’s hockey in Seattle, but the truth is, the game has always been here. Now, we just need a PWHL Seattle expansion team!
