Mosaic Crochet Tutorial for Beginners

This is a "Time Stamped" video is for all my lovely friends who ask "How'd you do that?" So, here it is, a video tutorial on how I crochet in the Mosaic style. Below is a link for a PDF of the practice pattern so you can follow along. Enjoy!

Free Practice Pattern
Row 1, Foundation Row (Color B): CH 48 ST plus 3. Starting at the second stitch of the CH, SC back down the CH, CH 1, cut your yarn leaving a 1-to-2-inch tail, secure by pulling yarn through the CH 1 ST, tighten. The stitch at the beginning and end are the border ST’s and are not counted.

Row 2 (Color A): BS, [ SC 48 ], BS
Row 3 (Color B): BS, [ SC 48], BS
Row 4 (Color A): BS, DC 3, [ SC 13, DC 1, REPEAT 2 more X ], DC 3, BS
Row 5 (Color B): BS, SC 3, [ DC 1, SC 11, DC 1, SC 1, REPEAT 2 more X ], SC 4, BS
Row 6 (Color A): BS, SC 9, [ DC 1, SC 13, REPEAT 2 more X ], SC 10, BS
Row 7 (Color B): BS, SC 3, [ DC 1, SC 4, DC 1, SC 1, DC 1, SC 4, DC 1, SC 1, REPEAT 2 more X ], SC 3, BS
