Converting the Coleman 6-Person Pop-up Tent into a full-on Hot Tent. In this video, I remove the floor of the tent and show you how to it looks like.
The reason for doing this, is because the tent has the tendency to take on water in the inside causing gear and clothing to become soaked.
This can happen from:
The door being slightly opened
Traveling in and out the tent in rain/snow/mud
Water pooling at the top of the tent and dripping through the seams
Water dripping in from the seams of the windows
By removing the floor:
I have converted the tent into a traditional hot tent, which means I can run a wood stove without concern of burning or melting the plastic floor
It allows me to now use the tent on multiple surfaces including ice and surfaces which would otherwise be damaging to tent (ex. rocks).
