The video starts from a few seconds before pressing Shift+Esc, which restarts the level.
Techniques used:
Last checkpoint abuse
In this level, the checkpoint updates as soon as you enter the hole, and you don't actually need to fall down to go to the next section. Using "last checkpoint" from the pause menu instantly teleports you to the next section and saves time falling down the hole.
Pause buffering
EDGE time (bonus time subtracted from level time) happens when you release and re-press the direction you are climing onto. You can re-press the button using pause without actually releasing the button, so by pausing on an early frame of climbing a step, you can get a few extra frames of EDGE time.
Wrong warp
Due to how checkpoints are set up, blocks at 0:30 and 1:12 unintentionally updates the checkpoint to the next section. Combined with last checkpoint abuse, these save a lot of time.
These were discovered with robin-mu's Visible Checkpoints mod.
