After leaving Miles Davis' group in Dec 1956, John Coltrane returned to his parents' home in Philadelphia to try to overcome his drug habits.
He made a comeback in the spring of 1957 when he was invited by Thelonious Monk.
For Coltrane, co-starring with Monk will be a very significant experience, and will be able to achieve dramatic musical growth and step into the forefront of the jazz scene.
