Restricted: speedrun category that allows for little to no glitches. The only "glitch" that is used in the run is unequip and re-equipping the grapple gun to reset the cooldown, I didn't even spam glide or Hangyu jump in this run, though I believe they are allowed. There was no duping, item damage swapping, build gliding, mimog farming, etc.
Level 50: is the only leveling category on speedrun.com at the moment.

The run:
This run went REALLY well. I'm happy with it but it certainly can go lower. I started with a single trip for direhowl and got rushoar too! The direhowl I got even came with Runner, so this is about as good as it gets and surely save me a ton of time on the run. I also did a good job remembering to hit the black marketeer each time I hang him, but didn't get very many valuable pals from him (low cost or great base working pals).
I got a lot of lucky catches at 50% or more that over the run surely saved a lot of time as well. I grabbed a dinnosaum early to help woodcut since I wasn't getting anything I wanted from the black marketeer. After getting a ring of mercy, direhowl and I went around hitting everything to 1hp so I could catch it. I made sure to get chillet and grintale kill fairly early for the ancient tech points, experience, and money.
I made sure to grab a Wixen early for the 2 kindling and 3 handiwork to help the base along. After making a killamari glove and grapple gun, I made my way to the fishing village down by the volcano, attempting to buy a reptyro for the level 3 kindling and about as many mega spheres as I could buy. I next set up a base by Chillet to start mining Ore more efficiently. After that, I went to the mini-desert for the level 18-23 digtoise, a great mining pal in the base and also great at mining when it has the digtoise headband.
Having gotten some levels, I went to sakurajima at 1:30:00ish since that is the first chance for supply drops to fall. I got a meteorite sadly, but we were also there to try and loot good schematics, liffmunk effigies, and spheres in preparation for mid-late stages of this run. This is when the true blessing of this run hits: a pump action shotgun 1 schematic from a chest around 1:36:00. This is the cheapest version to make, and more than strong enough for what we need. This means we can make this gun way sooner than we should, gives us more rounds to hold, and does more damage. S-Tier Drop that I probably should have tried to craft even faster than I did.. But why stop at 1 when you can have dupes!? Ok, the dupe did nothing, but if I ever do this run again, I hope I get the same luck!
I found a lucky Dazemu that I ended up not using, still not sure if that is a mistake, but the skills of the Dazemu and my comfort with it pale in comparison to direhowl.
I went to Wildlife Sanctuary 2 for the Jormuntide Ignis and caught one that was... terrible., level 41 so about as low as they get to make the catch easy, but it had Slacker. I made sure to kill Lilly and Lyleen to get the ore mining site 2. Breed some anubis after catching 12 Penking at wildlife sanctuary 1 (it may have been better to just breed them faster, I'm not sure) but I got an artisan penking so Anubis ended up being really good for this run!
I made sure to catch a ragnahawk and fly around on that pretty much for the rest of time. The rest of the run is me leveling up the base, getting the pump action, and catching pals with a little bit of exploration experience thrown in. I was starting to produce pal metal ingots to attempt the towers after this run, but my mental wasn't there and I ran out of rockets in a fight to Saya and Seylene at around the 7 hour mark.
I hope you found the gameplay interesting! It's a fun run, albiet a bit long.
