NEWBORN SWADDLE SLEEP SACKS
When you bring your beautiful little baby home from the hospital, it can be difficult (and unsafe) to try to swaddle them in a blanket at home. That’s why a lot of people turn to swaddle sleep sacks! They’re the safest (and cosiest) option to keep your baby safe and warm during the night.
Alyssa tried the Halo and the Snoo sleep sack. You’ll learn which was more “hip-friendly” (preventing hip dysplasia) as well as you’ll learn more about the fabric and how well these swaddles work with diaper changes.
The best sleep sack in this category was the Halo!

TRANSITION SLEEP SACKS
As soon as you begin to see signs of your baby rolling, you want to stop swaddling them immediately. This is because if your baby is swaddled and rolls over in the night, they may not be able to roll back, which poses a big suffocation risk. We want your rolling baby to be safe in the middle of the night! This is when a swaddle transition blanket/sleep sack comes in handy.
Alyssa tried three different sleep sacks in this category: the Merlin Magic Sleep Suit (this transition blanket really helps with the startle reflex), the Nested Bean (super cozy), and the Zipadee-Zip (tons of mobility while still contained).
They all have their pros, but the Nested bean definitely wins this category!

TODDLER SLEEP SACKS
When your baby becomes a toddler, they’re suddenly super active which is so fun to see! But this also means that they have greater mobility, which can make us reconsider which sleep sack we put them in at night. There are many options: sleeveless sleep sacks, sleep sacks with arms, or sleep sacks with feet for walking toddlers.
We have two sleep sacks in this category: the Baby DeeDee and the Halo (again). Alyssa loved both of these!

ALYSSA’S (& BSMS TEAM’S) FAVORITE SLEEP SACK OUT OF ALL THE CATEGORIES:
In our opinion, the best sleep sack that is a winner in all categories is definitely the Woolino.
The fabric is breathable and regulates temperature which means it can be worn throughout all 4 seasons. It also has a huge age range, you can wear this same sleep sack when your baby is 2 months old up until 2 years!
The initial cost is a little expensive, but given how many sleep sacks you’ll be getting out of buying (given seasonal changes and age) it’s an investment in the long run.
