Creating a BowTieXP Enterprise plug-out for E.On

Organizations typically develop unique processes and reports around their bowtie data to transform it into knowledge that informs decision making. These unique approaches are not always easily compiled from standard BowTieXP Enterprise reports. For example, E.on calculates barrier effectiveness (and their LOPA values) by combining audit results and barrier type. Although this process can be done manually, it is very time consuming and error prone to do so. To address this, E.on and Resilium have developed a 'plugout', which retrieves BowTieXP Enterprise data via an API, does the calculation, returns the values to the server and generates a custom MS Word report that includes the LOPA results. It now generates at the click of a button.
