It's an odd plot line. Billie is having an affair with Mike and Mike leaves him. Billie's still in love with his wife, but is torn in a million directions. He's hanging off the edge, trying to end it all. Adrienne is trying to talk him out of it, saying that despite his mistakes she still loves him and is willing to make it work. And even if Billie never wants to see her again, it will still be worth it to save his life.
