Dwarf Tomatoes - Perfect for Container Gardening

If you grow tomatoes in containers—or you’re short on garden space—then you need to know about dwarf tomatoes. Most gardeners are familiar with indeterminate and determinate tomatoes, but dwarf tomatoes form a third—and incredibly useful—category.

Dwarf tomatoes combine the compact size of determinates with the season-long production of indeterminates, making them ideal for patios, balconies, raised beds, and small-space gardens.

Thanks to the incredible work of the Dwarf Tomato Project, there are now nearly 140 unique dwarf tomato varieties available. These varieties were bred through a worldwide, volunteer-driven collaboration of hobby gardeners—an inspiring grassroots effort.
