In this, the second episode shot while on holidays on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State, USA, I shoot at Ruby Beach on the Pacific coast of the peninsula. After a great day of shooting waterfalls around Lake Quinault (see previous episode • Landscape Photography #18 Lake Quinault Fa... ) we arrived at Ruby Beach in the late afternoon just as the sea mist rolled in preventing any semblance of colour at sunset. However, it was a chance to look for compositions that could be used to make black and white images emphasising tone, shape and texture.
