This film explores the influence of Prince Albert on the cultural expansion of London during the 19th century. With a narrator to introduce different scenes, a variety of key moments in Albert's life are reenacted by the presenters.
The introduction of the Christmas Tree in England, Albert's induction into the Royal College of Arts and finally, the Great Exhibition of 1851 are each examined.

This film is part of the collections at London Metropolitan Archives, a public research centre which specialises in the history of London.
