Today in this Mercedes Benz Sprinter Van, were going to install part number 90885 from Tekonsha. To help us to install our brake controller, were also going to use part number ETBC7. Were going to need another part which is a bracket for us to install our 7-pole connector bracket. Thats going to be part number 18136. Lets do a manual override. You can see how it scrolls the numbers so that works.

Well go ahead and push the brake pedal down and you can see that our brake pedal is sending signal out as well. All right, lets go ahead and put our bracket into place. I think well go ahead and install it from the bottom like this. Well take a clamp, run it through the hole, over the bracket and back over on the hitch and then through the attachment point on either side. Okay, as you thread it through, well go ahead and snap the bolt back into place and well go ahead and tighten it up. Lets go ahead and take our bracket for the 7-pole connector that comes with the ETBC7 kit and attach it to our bracket like that.

Well use the hardware that comes with this bracket to attach it. Okay, well go ahead and tighten down that hardware. Now lets go ahead and take our 7-pole connector that comes with the ETBC7 kit and attach to our bracket. Well install it just like that. Okay, this hardware comes with the kit so well go ahead and put that together.

All right, now at this point, we can go ahead and start hooking up wires. Well start with our 4-pole connector that comes off the 7-pole connector. This will go on to our previously installed 4-pole connector right here. Im going to move these wires out of the way for now and well just deal with this. Ill go ahead and 4-pole down and well put these together. Were also using dielectric grease to help protect the connections because this will be a semi-permanent connection when were done.

Now this is a dielectric grease were using part number 11755. Okay, well go ahead and push these two together and then well go ahead and put some tape around it to help protect our connection. All right, well go ahead and leave that alone for now. Lets tuck that up out of the way. Now well go ahead and work with our white and purple wires. Okay, now the purple wire is an axillary circuit typically used for reverse light circuit. In this case, its not being hooked up because we dont have the provision for it, so this is going to be tied up and stored out of the way for a future upgrade if needed. You could also use this for a different type of circuit if you wanted to. All right, we now have the white wire with the ring terminal to be our ground. Well go ahead and run that up and attach it to the frame of the vehicle. Well just go ahead and just run these two together to just keep things easy. Well go ahead and bundle this guy up for access later on if needed. Well go ahead and route this up and follow some preexisting wiring up towards the frame. Now were using #14 size screw that actually comes with the kit for our ground. Well go ahead and work for the last two wires now, our blue and our black. Our black wire is typically used for a 12 volt power supply and our blue wire will be our output for our brake controller. Well hook up our gray cable that comes with the ETBC7 kit to these two wires. All right, well go ahead and get our cable ready. Well go ahead and remove the gray sheath and well strip the wire back. These are preinstalled butt connectors that well use, black to black and white to blue. Well go ahead and add some electric tape to help protect our connections. Well go ahead and take our cable and go ahead and run it towards the front. This helps holding it up and out of the way. Lets go ahead and get our wires and well go ahead and bundle them up as best we can. Well use some electric tape to help put it together. Well use a s
