In its heyday, Naval Station Treasure Island sent off thousands of sailors and marines each day to help win World War II in the Pacific. But the Navy’s presence here spanned a century, including the first West Coast Naval Training Station and the last postwar residence of WWII hero Admiral Chester Nimitz.
James Sullivan, Department of the Navy, presented this lecture in Building One, the former administration building of Naval Station Treasure Island, on June 8, 2013.
