Alternative Steering Concept

The Toyota Tundra pickup is not a very common truck to bag and lay frame. This is because the front suspension is setup in such a way to cause some pretty significant space issues. When Bio Kustumz designed a completely new suspension for this particular vehicle, the steering gear ended up being the biggest hurdle.
The flex that you see in the rack is common and is caused by the mounts being rubber vs. how a traditional steering box is "hard mounted" directly to the frame. Also, the minimal side-to-side steering movement is not indicative of the amount of steering angle that the wheel gets. There are other factors involved with that which cannot be seen in this video.
Before you decide to dive into a design like this, understand that this is only one dimension of the steering. The side view and the front view will show different geometry that is still quite critical to proper steering geometry. This is merely a concept meant for displaying alternative options in limited space.
