"I think it's really important to have, you know, every shape, size, gender is non-binary. You know, we have men. We have really everyone in this show. But I think what's key is that it's -- in a glamorous way, not in jeans, and a t-shirt or a hoodie or whatever. These are really amazing couture-like clothes. And I think that that's very important to see - different types of people wearing those., because I think a lot of times people think like, 'Oh, I can't wear an evening gown or I can't wear that dress because I'm curvy or whatever it may be.' So I try to get rid of that stigma."

"I think that for me it is about transporting people and fancy and dream and, it's like making a kind of a short film, but, you know, performance in a way. So that's what I love to do."

STORYLINE:
It may be almost autumn but Christian Siriano is thinking spring.

The designer presented his spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection as part of first official day of New York Fashion Week.

Siriano, who first rose to fame as a contestant on the competition series "Project Runway," is known for creating clothing that fits a variety of shapes and sizes.

"I think it's really important to have, you know, every shape, size, gender is non-binary. You know, we have men. We have really everyone in this show. But I think what's key is that it's -- in a glamorous way, not in jeans, and a t-shirt or a hoodie or whatever. These are really amazing couture-like clothes. And I think that that's very important to see," said Siriano backstage before the show.

New York Fashion Week runs through Sept. 11.
