A series of tests were performed on the Ford Pinto and Chevrolet Vega, impacted by a Chevrolet Impala at various angles and speeds. The test series is incomplete on NHTSA's database and none of these tests in the series have test reports.
This particular test is #12 in the series, and has a 1971 Chevrolet Impala Sedan impacting the rear of a 1971 Chevrolet Vega Coupe in a majority-overlap, 0-degree angle configuration at 35.1 Mph (56.5 Km/h) at Dynamic Science in Phoenix, Arizona, on 02/17/1978.
There are no test reports associated with this fuel leak test series on NHTSA's Database. The HIC of the left front occupant in the Vega is 84. (1000 Max)
