Used after hot or cold mounting to uncover sample surface quickly and bevel edges of sample to prevent tearing of polishing cloth later in the process. Pull handle all the way to get water circulation, if still no water, refill the tank with DI water. If longer time required on rough grit, rotate sample 180 degrees to prevent facets from growing into sample face. Hold sample against belt for intervals of 10 seconds until all visible scratches are straight and uniform. Rotate 90 degrees between sequential grinding steps.
