Part 1/3 in our Saudi travels the holy city of Al Medina and the Red Sea city of Jeddah.
Saudi Arabia, once closed to the world, is now taking its first steps toward openness. We jumped on the opportunity to explore the hidden wonders it has to offer, before mass tourism hits the country inevitably.
Al Madian, the second holiest site to Muslims, just recently opened its gates to non-muslims visitors into the city boundaries. Our timing was perfect, only a few days before the annual Hajj in Makkah. The city was flooded with muslim pilgrims from around the world, treating us to a very special spiritual uplifting journey 🕌
The city of Jeddah on the Red Sea coast is known for its relatively liberal attitudes and a thriving arts and culture scene. We were wowed by the seamless integration of the old world architecture and traditions with the emerging modern nation 🌆
The warmth of the locals, and the welcoming traditional hospitality captured our hearts from the very first few moments ✨
