Trunk Escape and Door Protectors

While putting door edge protector tape on my 2014 Dodge Charger, I discovered a unique and surprising feature on my trunk. It has a release latch inside AND a handle which seems to be there specifically so a person can comfortably climb into the trunk and close the lid from inside. Then the release latch is there to open the trunk when you're don hanging out in the trunk, and would like to get out. Additionally, the release latch glows in the dark! I'm guessing that this is a safety feature and is probably common on more modern vehicles, but it seems kind of hilarious to me that so much thought was put into making it more convenient to ride in the trunk.
Anyway, as I said at the beginning, I was in the process of putting door edge protection strips around all the car doors. A week earlier I opened the door and scraped it on the retaining wall. I was very unhappy about that. So I touched up the scuffed paint, and ordered protection strips.
This stuff is kind of awesome! It's extremely flexible which allows it to be used even around corners. It grips without the need for any adhesive, so all you do to install it is press it on. There's metal in there as well, which is what allows it to keep it's shape and grip tightly, but cutting through the metal is a pain. The metal is sliced about every quarter inch though. So when you're cutting, just bend the stripping and look for the slight indents that show where the inner metal is sliced. Cut there and you won't have any problems.
