The Operating System Initial Ram Disk (OS InitRD) and the Slackware Installer include a set of kernel module loader scripts that conditionally load the essential modules required to initialise the base hardware during boot. Many ARM devices share common IP Cores, which means that loading the full set of modules unconditionally may improve the chances of bringing up the core subsystems on a new hardware model more easily, rather than having to manually discover them.
In this episode, we add functionality to the Kernel module loader to accomplish this.
