Physical end-stop switches for the Neptune 4 Max

From the factory, the Elegoo Neptune 4 Max printer is configured for sensorless homing, a method that monitors the electrical currents and voltages in the X-axis and Y-axis stepper motors to determine if the printer is at the home location. However, many people have been having issues with the sensorless homing, including loud grinding noises and the printer never detecting it has reached the home location.

In this video, we present and describe a modification for Neptune 4 Max printers that install physical end-stop switches. With this modification, the issues observed with sensorless homing will no longer be present. This is a fully reversable modification, as no cutting or drilling is involved, and all of the required supplies can easily be found on Amazon and at any basic hardware store.

There are two versions of this modification, one that uses X and Y axis end-stop switches taken from a donor Neptune 3/4 printer and a second that uses generic and commonly available switches.
