The Faun show in Toronto, Ontario at the Axis Club on 722 College St. was well-attended and had a lively audience. Before the show there was a VIP meet and greet event which required a separate ticket.
Faun is a German pagan folk band based in the München area in Bavaria, southern Germany, whose members are very talented and highly skilled musicians who play a variety of interesting instruments which are unusual up to now in the popular music scene. This includes the bagpipe, hurdy-gurdy, Swedish nyckelharpa, various flutes and stringed-instruments, a variety of percussion instruments, and a modern electronic component. Faun has also worked with Norwegian musicians Einar Selvik and Lindy Fay Hella of Wardruna, multi-instrumentalist Martin Seeberg from Denmark, Katja Moslehner, Rüdiger Maul and Margarethe Eible (Rairda) who has also performed with Poeta Magica.
Former band member, the stunningly beautiful, highly talented vocalist and multi-instrumentalist virtuoso Fiona Frewert (née Rüggeberg) made music history by introducing the bagpipes into modern pop music.
