Ram 1500 2025 review: Hemi V8 out, Hurricane 6-cylinder engine in for new Chevrolet Silverado rival

The 2025 Ram 1500 full-size dual-cab pick-up has had a change of heart, with its iconic 5.7-litre naturally aspirated petrol Hemi V8 engine in the process of being remove from sale due to tightening emissions regulations. But the good news is its replacement delivers a lot more more power and torque.

Not convinced? Well, there's two states of tune on offer, with the 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol Hurricane inline six-cylinder unit delivering 313kW/635Nm in the entry-level Laramie Sport, or 403kW/707Nm in the flagship Limited. Both comfortably exceed the departing bent eight's 291kW/556Nm outputs.
