I Almost Quit This Backpacking Trip (for unexpected reasons)

When I set out to backpack the trail up to Peggy's Pond in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, I did not expect how the day would begin. My goal was to hike the steep trail to this stunning alpine lake, and take out my pack-raft on the lake with an amazing view of Mt. Daniel. It was a gorgeous day, and I expected a fun adventure. What I did not expect was a panic attack to strike right at the start of the trail which would threaten to end the trip before it began. A few years ago I had a panic attack on a winter backpacking trip, and it ended up sending me home. This time I attempted to soldier on and see if being out in wild would help. It is not always the right decision to continue on, but on this day it was. Watch the video to see why. Love y'all! 💚
