Ombattu Gudda is a 970 mtr peak in western ghat sakleshpura range, in the borderline of chikmagalore and hassan districts.
Ombattu Gudda trek is a difficult trail to tread. Ombattu Gudda literally translates to Nine Hill. Its named so because of the nine domes of the hills that are visible from the top. Ombattu Gudda trek or Trekking on the Nine Hill should be an adventure.
Trekking can be planned both from Gundya, dakshina kannada side as well as byrapura side. However from gundya side its a very long and difficult trek. Its also very challenging to convince and get permission from the Karnataka Forest Department.
We a team of 12 trekked to Ombattu Gudda, we made sure that no trash is left behind, no harm was done to wildlife. We took help from the forest department in the form of guides.
