Day 6 of my solo roadtrip to Scotland 🚐 🏴
After spending a quiet night parked up in a carpark in Stirling 🚐 (£4.10 for 24hrs)
I set off into the city on foot to go exploring 👀
About an 20/25 min walk up to the Castle.
I purchased my ticket on the door £20.50 😳 it was couple of quid cheaper to book online but was a faff so I didn't bother.
Lots to see and included in the admission cost you can attend a free guided tour.
The guide knew his stuff! 👌
From there to The Jail £14 admission.
There was an actor who told the story of life in the jail and there are also audio guides included in the admission price.
A spot of retail therapy in the Thistle shopping mall ( look out for the Bastion and Thieves pot in amongst the retail shops, free entry and very interesting!)
Finally to the impressive Wallace monument. £11.65 admission (but currently 10% off as the crown section at the top is sadly closed for a few days.)
Really interesting and awesome to see the actual sword that belonged to William Wallace...it's huge!
Lots of steep winding steps to climb! 🥵
And I'd recommend getting the free shuttle bus up to the monument from the visitor centre as it's a fair pull to the top 😅
No time to see anything else in Stirling and am now heading south 🚐
