The Himgiri Express (Train No. 12331) runs from Howrah Junction (Kolkata) to Jammu Tawi, connecting eastern India to the northernmost region of the country. The train departs from Howrah Junction at 23:55 hrs and reaches Jammu Tawi at 13:00 hrs on the third day, taking about 37 hours to cover a distance of nearly 2,000 kilometres.
During the journey, the train passes through several important railway stations such as Asansol, Patna, Varanasi, Lucknow, Moradabad, Ambala, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, and Pathankot before reaching Jammu Tawi. It provides a beautiful experience as it travels across different states like West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir.
The fare varies according to class — approximately ₹810 for Sleeper Class, ₹2,105 for AC 3-Tier, ₹3,020 for AC 2-Tier, and ₹5,125 for AC First Class. The train offers both comfort and scenic views, making it one of the most popular long-distance trains from Kolkata to Jammu.
