The young starlet has made her way through the entire Malta National Team ranks, captaining the youth teams before making her starting eleven debut against Portugal. Since her starting debut, Maya Lucia has maintained her place in the Malta National Team’s prestigious starting eleven, boasting a line-up of professional players under the books of Inter, Sheffield, Genoa, Venezia, Roubaix, Luton, and more.

Starting her overseas career at the age of 19, Maya Lucia carries years of professional experience - from featuring for Genoa femminile’s first team (2022/23), becoming a Croatian champion with Champion’s league side ŽNK Osijek (2023/24), and now under the books of Polish top-flight side, AP Orlen Gdansk (2024/25).

Before leaving the island to pursue her overseas career, Maya earned the title of 𝐌𝐅𝐏𝐀 𝐁𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐆 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐘𝐄𝐑 and was named in the 𝐌𝐅𝐏𝐀 𝐁𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐗𝐈.

The Maltese prospect was also named as one of "𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐚’𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞" by the Sunday Circle.
