No matter if you call it Detroit's Largest Art Object, The Golden Tower, or The Fisher Building, there's no doubt that it dominates the Detroit skyline. It was completed in 1928 and honored in 1929 with a silver medal in architecture by the Architecture League of New York. Designed by Albert Khan Associates with Joseph Nathaniel French serving as chief architect, the Fisher brothers encouraged him to hire the best craftsmen and artisans to work on the construction project. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1989.
Albert Khan and Associates is still in business today with a focus on upgrading, restoring, and repurposing historic buildings like the Piquette Avenue Factory Museum.
Tours are available on their website.
