1915 BSA “Model K” Flat Tank Motorcycle with Incredible WW 1 Story
Thank you to all the Men & Women who have and are serving in the Armed Forces!
Thank you to George Cole for bringing out and sharing his story about this beautiful 1915 BSA "Flat Tank" Motorcycle.
BSA, stands for “Birmingham Small Arms Company LTD. The company was founded in 1861. The company was in the business of manufacturing “Fire Arms”. In 1903 the company decided to set up a motorcycle division and in 1910 they produced their first model. BSA was a major contributor to the war effort with their fire arms and other amenities including the motorcycle.
The “Flat Tank” design started in 1914 and lasted through 1923.
The “Flat Tank” was powered by a 557 cc, single cylinder air-cooled, four stroke engine with a three speed manual transmission.
Listen to George’s story as he tells how the bike works and how it was used in WW1 to carry correspondence and “Carrier Pigeons” to the front line.
