The Nazca Lines - Full Flight

The Nazca Lines.

The Nazca Lines are a series of ancient geoglyphs located in the Nazca Desert of Peru. They have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The high, arid plateau stretches more than 80 kilometres (50 mi) between the towns of Nazca and Palpa on the Pampas de Jumana. Although some local geoglyphs resemble Paracas motifs, scholars believe the Nazca Lines were created by the Nazca culture between 200 BCE and 700 CE.

The hundreds of individual figures range in complexity from simple lines to stylized hummingbirds, spiders, monkeys, fish, sharks or orcas, llamas, and lizards.

The lines are shallow designs made in the ground by removing the ubiquitous reddish pebbles and uncovering the whitish ground beneath. Hundreds are simple lines or geometric shapes; more than seventy are designs of animal, bird, fish or human figures.

The largest figures are over 200 metres (660 ft) across. Scholars differ in interpreting the purpose of the designs, but they generally ascribe religious significance to them, as they were major works that required vision, planning and coordination of people to achieve.

Pleno vuelo sobre las misteriosas Líneas de Nazca en Perú ver toda la zona de arriba.

Este fue el segundo día de mi viaje por América del Sur - 30 de abril de 2010.

Las Líneas de Nazca.

Las Líneas de Nazca son una serie de antiguos geoglifos ubicados en el desierto de Nazca en Perú. Ellos han sido designados por la UNESCO como Patrimonio de la Humanidad. La elevada y árida meseta se extiende más de 80 kilómetros (50 millas) entre las ciudades de Nazca y Palpa en la Pampas de Jumana de.

Aunque algunos locales geoglifos parecen motivos Paracas, los eruditos creen las Líneas de Nazca fueron creadas por la cultura Nazca entre 200 aC y 700 CE.

Los cientos de figuras individuales varían en complejidad desde simples líneas estilizadas a los colibríes, arañas, monos, peces, tiburones y orcas, llamas, y los lagartos.

Las líneas son diseños poco profundas hechas en el suelo quitando las piedras rojizas en todas partes y el descubrimiento de la tierra blanquecina por debajo. Cientos son simples líneas o formas geométricas, más de setenta diseños de animales, aves, pescado o figuras humanas.

Las figuras más grandes son más de 200 metros (660 pies) de ancho. Los estudiosos difieren en la interpretación de los efectos de los diseños, pero por lo general, atribuimos un significado religioso para ellos, como lo fueron las principales obras que requiere visión, planificación y coordinación de las personas a lograr.
