The plaintiff claims she took her wedding dress to the defendant for dry cleaning, but when she picked it up, she found it had been shrunk, yellowed, and even shredded in areas. She’s suing the defendant for the state maximum of $5,000. The defendant argues that he’s been in business for 30 years and knows what he’s doing. The dress was brought in covered in makeup and dirt on the bottom, and the lace trim was ripped. He repaired the dress and didn’t receive any complaints from the plaintiff until two weeks after she picked it up. He doesn’t owe anything since he actually fixed the dress.
