In March 1944, German prisoners of war were escorted through the doors of Boeing Plant 2 in Seattle. What they saw inside would shatter everything they believed about America and about the war they were fighting.
They had been told American industry was weak. Inefficient. Incapable of sustained war production.
Then they watched B-17 Flying Fortress bombers roll off the assembly line.
